Seven Years of DesignPod: Reflecting on Growth, Gratitude, and Lessons Learned

Seven years.
Seven years of growth, grit, creativity, reinvention, late nights, big leaps, small steps, and everything in between.
But more than anything—seven years of people who believed in me and believed in DesignPod.
DesignPod wouldn’t be what it is today without the clients who trusted us with their brands, the partners who collaborated and supported us, the friends and mentors who encouraged every step forward, and the community that kept cheering us on.
I’m endlessly grateful.
Running a business is one of the hardest—and most rewarding—things I’ve ever done. And as I look back on these seven years, here are the seven lessons that have shaped me the most:
7 Things I’ve Learned in 7 Years of DesignPod
1. Trust your gut—always.
Your intuition will pick up things long before your eyes or logic do. The best decisions I’ve made started with a feeling.
2. You don’t know what you don’t know. Stay open.
The moment you think you’ve learned it all is the moment you stop growing. Curiosity is one of the strongest tools you can have as an entrepreneur.
3. Partnerships are invaluable.
Business is not a solo journey. The right collaborators, clients, supporters, and mentors become the lifeblood of your growth.
4. Success is built in the quiet, unseen moments.
It’s the tiny steps, the daily choices, the behind-the-scenes consistency that move you forward. Big wins are just the result of small actions stacked over time.
5. The ups and downs never end—how you handle them is everything.
You can’t control the waves, but you can learn how to navigate them. Resilience is a skill you build through repetition.
6. Life and business can change in a minute.
A week, a month, a single decision can shift everything. Stay flexible. Stay open. Stay ready.
7. You always have the power to make things better.
Change happens the moment you decide to take the first step. Nothing moves until you do.
+ One more (because gratitude matters): Always stay humble.
Gratitude opens doors. Humility keeps them open. Never lose sight of the people and moments that helped you get here.
